Intermezzo Review

Sara is a regular at Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails, located at 1111 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33705, and is never without an opinion. Here are her innermost thoughts – at least in regards to their seasonal beverages.

Blood Orange and Rosemary Espresso Tonic

WOW talk about savory. It is not like drinking liquid turkey but gosh it’s also not not. There is some sweetness from the orange, and I’m not sure what the mystery foam is, but it do be looking #aesthetic. I don’t mind the bubbles, I’m typically not an espresso and seltzer girlie, but this weirdly makes sense?  My least favorite thing is being bored, and this drink does NOT bore me. Well done Jarrett, I see you thinking outside the box.

Brown Butter & Sage Cappuccino

I am new to cappuccino life, but it has been my coffee beverage of choice lately. Gosh this is good. I’m not really getting the sage, but I am getting the warm nuttiness of the browned butter, which adds a lot of richness and complexity. It’s a really pleasant beverage, I’m almost wishing for more sage – if there was one more note that would really knock this beveragino out of the park. This is definitely a crowdpleaser. If you’re unsure what to order, you won’t be disappointed with this.

Gingerbread Latte

While a potentially glutinous beverage, this latte is very nummy. Haters will tell you that gingerbread is just a version of pumpkin spice, but they’re WRONG! This is a different flavor profile and honestly I might prefer to pumpkin pie spice! I did get asked what I ordered when the drink was delivered, this is big time cute. Just foamy enough, this might be my favorite beveragino of the seasonal menu.
